With a Heavy Heart

My heart is grieving. I do not have the words to express the sadness I feel. I cannot control the tears.

My heart goes out to the parents of the Sandy Hook Elementary children in Connecticut. I cannot even imagine what they must be going through. May God bless the little angels we lost and bring fortitude to those left behind.

As a teacher, I was doubly impacted by this tragedy. A school, a safe haven... I mourn the loss of the teachers and the principal.

May God bless us all.

I want to thank everyone who has been following me in this new adventure. I am so humbled by your comments and private messages. It really makes me want to be a better writer!

I'd like to share what one of my readers expressed to me the other night after reading chapter 2:
"Don't think I'm going to like uncle teddy."

It made me chuckle!

Another reader described Maggie as sort of "noir." How cool is that!

Writing has become an outlet, much like what my jewelry making was when I started in 2005. I haven't stopped making jewelry but its purpose changed.

Writing has slowly crept in and taken its place. It helps me focus and deal with my life. It centers me and gives me brand new purpose. Unlike my jewelry creations which I could literally "wear on my sleeve", my writing is very personal and shows other aspects of me. This intimacy made it very difficult for me to share with others.
