CHPS. 12- 16

Chapter 12
Maggie woke up and showered. Her usual routine would have to wait. There was no time for Face book and no time for coffee. She was anxious to get through the morning. Today the one thing that had consumed her for the last few weeks would be over. Today was the MRI. She put on a skirt and a shirt with a pair of brown boots. She didn’t think twice about what she wore. She grabbed a light jacket and her purse and hurried out the door to catch the bus.

Just like Doctor Toledo‘s office, this office was generic. Same chairs, magazine racks, but there was no opening on the wall, just a counter and a receptionist sitting behind it. Maggie walked up to the counter where a dark haired woman wearing glasses greeted her.

“How may I help you?”

Maggie quietly told the receptionist she had an appointment for 9 o’clock.

“You’re a little early, dontcha think?” and handed Maggie a clipboard with several sheets of paper to fill out.

Maggie smiled and took the clipboard and sat at the far end of the empty office. She quickly filled out the questionnaires and signed her name on the many pages not bothering to look at what she was signing. She then returned the clipboard to the receptionist who informed her she would be waiting awhile and should make herself comfortable.
Maggie sat and crossed her arms around her. Time slowly ticked by. At 9 o’clock, a young man wearing a lab coat stepped into the waiting area and called out her name. Maggie looked at the floor and followed him in.

Chapter 13

She was a knock out! She simply had not realized it. But here, staring into the mirror she could see how beautiful she was. Her face was impeccable: perfectly outlined azure eyes and lips of red crimson. Her lashes were thick and voluminous and created the perfect frame for her light brown eyes.

She would leave her hair loose: a cascade of ringlets almost reaching her lower back. That was all the preparation she needed. Now on to her outfit!

She decided on the little purple dress that brought out her eyes and caused so much sensation the last time she wore it. Her shoes would be the black patent stilettos. There was no sense in trying to compete with this dress!

And after adding a pair of gold hoops to her look, she was out the door and into the night.

The livery cab dropped her off in front of Piper’s Kilt at about 12:30 in the morning. Some men outside smoking turned to watch her as she entered the bar. She loved the attention!

Now I know most bars are dark. I guess in the darkness, you can be anyone you want to be. But this bar was darker than most. This suited her just fine. She sat and the bartender quickly came over. She kissed him, made small talk, and ordered a Bay Breeze. He was happy to see her again.

She scanned the room and saw some of the regulars already wasted. She smiled and shook her head. By the jukebox, there was a group of guys about her age choosing songs. They were not part of the regular crowd. One guy in particular caught her attention. Hmmm, yes… he was perfect.

The bartender brought her the drink and told her it was on him. She graciously smiled and accepted with a pleasant thank you. She turned around on her stool and focused on her new acquisition. Whether he knew it yet or not, he would be hers by the end of the night.

She made her way to the jukebox and struck up a conversation with the guy. He was handsome and well dressed, the way she liked them. They talked about music and she flirted coyly. He was totally turned on by her beauty. He offered to buy her another drink and she declined. “Soon, not just yet.” They walked away from the group and went to the bar where he ordered himself a drink. They found a table in the darkest corner of the bar.

They became friendly instantly! She touched his arm and knee flirtatiously. He got closer and closer! Soon they were exchanging sweet kisses.

They sat for a while really enjoying each other’s company.

She leaned into him and whispered, “I haven’t seen you here before.”

“No, I’m visiting some friends. I’m from Jersey.” He started playing with the hem of her very short dress. His fingers softly grazed high up on her thigh and she shook as a tingle reverberated through her body. She chuckled.

So in the darkness they sat familiarizing themselves with each other’s bodies. He whispered, “Let’s get out of here.”

She pulled away, her eyes glistening with desire. She licked her lips and pulled her skirt down. “I’m ready for that drink now.”

He shook his head. “Wow, you’re so hot. I’ll be right back.”

She sat at the table with a bright, fulfilled smile. She really liked this guy! She grabbed her bag from the chair and reached in for the little vial. She carefully opened it and sprinkled some of the content into her friend’s drink. Perfect! She was very satisfied with herself.

Chapter 14
The phone rang just as Maggie was entering her apartment. It was Doctor Toledo. The results were in and he didn’t want to discuss it over the phone. He asked her to come in first thing tomorrow morning.

Maggie couldn’t sleep. She tossed and turned in her bed, playing different scenarios in her head. She thought of calling her mother. No, what’s the point.

Doctor Toledo greeted Maggie warmly. “Tell me, how have you been?”

“Well, I’m fine, except for the headaches. But they’re not always bad.”
Doctor Toledo smiled at Maggie. “Good…” he pulled out Maggie’s chart and ruffled the pages. “I’ve been studying the scan. There is a lesion showing. This could be the cause of the headaches. How’s your memory?”

“It’s fine, what do you mean?”

“Well, do you forget things?”
Maggie thought for a second. “Well, awhile back, I went to the park. I don’t know why, but I was there… I was thinking about the rape, I guess. But, that was it. I went back again. But I haven’t been back. I don’t want to think about that day…”

The doctor listened carefully. She wasn’t telling him everything. “Maggie, I want you to see a psychiatrist. You haven’t dealt with the rape. You have to heal. I will monitor the lesion but you have to get well emotionally. How ‘bout it?”
Maggie didn’t want to talk to anyone about the rape. It was better left alone. “Yeah, I guess…”

Doctor Toledo wrote some names on his prescription pad and handed the list to Maggie. “Here, they are all great psychiatrists. I know two of them personally. Call, it will help. I will see you back here next week. In the meantime, here is a prescription for the headaches. And call me if you notice anything else, no matter how small it may seem. Okay?”
Maggie took the prescription and stared at it.“I will.”

Chapter 15

All the time they had been talking, they had not even exchanged names. It didn’t matter. They were so attracted to each other that names weren’t important. There was animal attraction. You could smell the pheromones they emanated. It was primal.
He handed her the drink. “I’ll be right back. I’m just going to use the restroom.”

She smiled and took a sip from the drink.“I’ll be right here.”
As soon as he got back from the bathroom, he leaned over and kissed her. He sat next to her and put his hand on hers. He reached for his drink and realized he was falling for this girl. Nothing like him! He played with women. In one gulp, he drank the entire drink. I need to play this differently!

So instead of making out with her, he resisted. He started to tell her about himself.

“Wadda you do?”

“Nothing, right now. Might go back to school in the spring.”

“Cool. I’m a business major. I’ll be done in June. There’s a couple of places that want to hire me. I’m psyched!”

“Nice.” She looked away and grimaced. No, you can’t do this. I don’t want to hear about your life!

She grabbed her bag and grabbed his hand.“Let’s get out of here!” He didn’t resist.

They found a little corner by the side emergency exit of the bar. He whirled her around and kissed her deeply. She kissed him violently and pressed her body on his. His penis throbbed and suddenly his body was engulfed by a warm sensation. He pushed her off him, grabbed her by the arm, and led her toward his car.

He opened the car door, pulled the driver’s seat forward, and tried to steer her into the back seat. She grabbed the seat and pushed it back. “No,in front.” Right now, he didn’t care where they did it. He just wanted her.

They went at it for several minutes. He touched her breasts as he tried to undo her bra. She wouldn’t let him. “C’mon…”he pleaded. She teased him with her smile and brought both his hands to her breast.

She pulled down his pant zipper and grabbed his penis. He melted at her touch. He let her go and got comfortable in the driver’s seat. “Let’s get in the back seat.”

“Not yet…” She stroked his penis and watched him. She took pleasure in seeing the facial contortions that her hand job was producing. She smiled and waited. “Soon baby.”

******************************************************************************

He was feeling extremely tired and groggy. C’mon Paulie. Don’t fall asleep. He could still feel this woman giving him a hand job but he was feeling farther and farther away.

******************************************************************************

She could feel his body slowly loosen and his erection start to wilt. She let go of his penis and watched him as he went into unconsciousness. She sat on the passenger seat very proud of herself, her heart racing with excitement.

She reached for her handbag and pulled out a red velvet pouch. She cradled it in her hand lovingly. Slowly she pulled out the content of the bag. It shimmered in the dark. The pearl handle was milky white. The dragon carving on it was delicately intricate. The dragon went on to reveal a shiny, spear point blade.

She turned to her companion and watched him as he slept. She grabbed his penis and tucked it into his pants. She hovered over him and with great force plunged the blade into his stomach.

Chapter 16

Years of neglect had turned what was once a cozy and welcoming home into a disheveled and bleak frame. Much like its inhabitant, the walls were faded and lacked color. The picture frames that adorned them were covered in several layers of dust and grime. The tan couch was a canvas for crimson wine stains and cigarette burn holes that together formed a dessert like landscape. The air hung mustily, accompanying the outdated drapes that kept the sunlight from seeping in. The room told a story, one full of fear and desperation, loneliness and isolation.

Maggie sat on the couch not aware of how easily she blended into the room. She waited, hands folded for her mother to come back from the kitchen.

She came back holding a glass of iced tea and set it in front of Maggie. For a second she looked at her daughter and searched for something to say. She went around the coffee table and sat next to Maggie. The two sat quietly staring at some invisible something in front of them.

The silence was disquieting. But they sat there, motionless. Words would have been a waste for none could express the feelings inside.

It seemed like they had sat together for hours when it fact only 5 minutes had elapsed. Maggie looked around, found the remote control, and turned on the television. She began to loosen up and sat back on the couch, lifting her legs and folding them under her body. She flipped through the channels quickly.

Her mother sitting beside her watched the picture change and change again. Then, she grabbed Maggie’s hand. “Wait… leave it there.”

…it is the fourth man to be found stabbed in the Northwest Bronx. Sources say the man who is from New Jersey, had been drinking at the Piper’s Kilt Bar and Restaurant earlier that evening.

“We were just hanging out… just having a good time… you know?”

The details are still somewhat murky, Katie, and police will not identify the man until his family is notified. They will also not speculate as to whether this latest casualty is connected to the other three stabbings. There is however an eyewitness who saw the victim leave with a woman earlier last evening. Police are asking that the woman come forward because she may have some much-needed information. They are also asking anyone who may have information to call Crime stoppers or their local precinct. We will have more on these heinous attacks as information becomes available. From Riverdale in the Bronx, this is Maria Rodriguez. Back to you Katie.

“Ok, you can change it. Check USA. Law and Order might be on.”
